Flats Live at The Creators Project

by James Knight July 17, 2010

Fast-rising London punk four-piece Flats were the first onstage in the ballroom. The huge ornate hall kind of belied the spitting rage being kicked up by frontman Dan Devine and his DMs. When a group of girls at the front of the crowd started moshing and making out, the rest of the room soon got the idea: throw yourself around as hard as you can and don’t worry about who you fall into. This music might not be as high-minded as a lot of the Creators’ work on show today, but as Flats pounded through brutal riffs such as “Flats Waltz”, it’s just as powerful.
