Moritz Waldemeyer Talks Shop

Kevin Holmes July 06, 2010

Moritz Waldemeyer is a designer at the threshold of high tech fashion, utilizing technology as textile and famous for his tech-art fusions which he’s created for Rihanna and Bono, his customized furry guitars for OK GO and Imogen Heap’s Twitter dress. He’s also updated the ancient Chinese martial art of Wushu Kung Fu adding LED lights for maximum sci-fi futurism chic. Check the slideshow above to have a look. His most recent work has been a light installation called Lucid Flux which was premiered in Milan at Salone del Mobile, and was featured at the Design Miami/ Basel 2010 which took place 15-19 June. It features 2,000 LED lights that create a sense of motion as the light travels through arching tubes, witness it for yourself in the video above. He’ll be coming to London on July 12 to give a talk about his work and inspirations, at Vitsœ design shop, and you can register for free tickets here. You can also keep up with what he’s up to over on his blog. We’ll be featuring his profile on The Creators Project this week, so check back for plenty of insights into his dark-defying designs.
