Multi-Robot Command and Control Interface

Kevin Holmes August 31, 2010

When Skynet becomes self-aware and the robot hordes hunt down the last surviving humans to enslave their former masters for years of vented fury, carelessness, and replacement then a device like this may come in handy. It’s a multi-touch command and control interface created by PhD research student Mark Micire over at UMass Lowell Robotics Lab. Built using Microsoft Surface it uses multitouch to select and control the robots, pan and zoom on the map where commands are executed, along with showing data like text and video. With a tool like this literally at our fingertips, how are we not meant to create a robot underclass? Anyway, no need to fear the technological singularity any more.
