The Creators Project DUMBO, New York: Weekend Highlights

On Saturday night in DUMBO New York there was some amazing performances from Florence + the Machine, Company Flow, A$AP Rocky (and his crew of crowd-surfing Harlemites), John Maus and of course Justice’s body-thumping DJ set. Families, twenty-somethings, couples and residents all convened in the neighbourhood to enjoy our interactive art installations and films, though the highlight of Saturday was definitely the musical performances.

Then on Sunday we screened films all afternoon and held panel discussions on the future of virtual reality and the artist as a researcher. There were short films from Spike Jonze and Arcade Fire, surreal architectural animations from Factory Fifteen, Band of Horses’ new film On My Way Back Home, and of course The Art Of Flight, Curt Morgan and Brain Farm’s epic snowboarding documentary (and yes, a helicopter does drive into a mountain).
